The
face
In
the last page and after analyzing briefly but rigorously
some of the current data about the Shroud of Turin, we concluded
that the image is that of a real man, tortured and killed
by crucifixion.
Here,
we show you the face of this man.

| Photo-relief
by Aldo Guerreschi |
In addition to the VP-8 analyzer, there
are other methods to obtain a relief of the image. Aldo
Guerreschi, photographer and administrator of the copyright
of Enrie´s negatives, has used a photographic technique
called photo-relief to extract information from
the image. "The basic technique consists mainly
in superimposing two complementary photographic films
(one negative and one positive) of the same subject,
adherent to each other but with a slight displacement
of their coincidence. This offsetting generates intensities`and
transparencies in those tiny spaces which are able
to show off the outlines of a form with light and shade
without altering the image, achieving a vague bas relief
effect where it is supposed they exist". (From "The
Turin Shroud and photo-relief technique" by
Aldo Guerreschi, 2000)". Although
the technique does not process the three-dimensional information
of the image the result obtained is indeed amazing.
Many of the details explained in The
autopsy
can been observed using this technique. But the high contrast
applied to see the details do not allowed a more natural
view of the face.
We have used a similar technique to get
a relief image of the face. By using the filter emboss of
the software Adobe Photoshop we obtained an image which
is very similar to the one generated by Aldo Guerreschi.
After this, we applied an additional filter to soften the
contrast and a light effect to enhance the highlight to
shadow ratio. By doing so we have obtained a more natural,
realistic and lifelike image. The general stretched aspect
of the face in our image and in the negative of Enrie is
due to the fact that in the cloth there is no lateral image
of the body.
REMEMBER
THAT UNTIL 1898 THE ONLY OBSERVABLE IMAGE WAS THE ONE ON
THE CLOTH AND NOT THE PROCESSED IMAGES OBTAINED BY PHOTOGRAPHIC
OR INFORMATIC TECHNIQUES SHOWN BELOW.

the Shroud. In the middle, the image that we obtained
from the negative of Enrie and where many of the
wounds described can be seen. Click on

For
the best visualization of the image, we advise you, after
clicking to magnify it, to adjust the contrast and brightness
of your monitor as well as the light of the room. Then,
increase your distance to the monitor as necessary.
Now, take your time. Observe the image and think again about
the data that you have read in our website. Even
if it sounds unbelievable, you could be in front of the
wounded face of the very Jesus of Nazareth.
Now, you have to draw your own conclusions.
